TM8200 series radios are high performance mobiles with a high quality display that provides a comprehensive solution in many conventional radio applications. With the appropriate software key in place, the TM8255 radio also supports MPT 1327 trunking.

The TM8200 series includes:
Tait TM8250 mobile radios
  • The TM8250: 25W, 40W (UHF) and 50W (VHF) 1500-channel conventional radio with enhanced LCD display
  • The TM8255: 25W, 40W (UHF) and 50W (VHF) 1500-channel dual mode conventional/MPT 1327 trunked radio with enhanced LCD display.

These radios are particularly well suited to applications where a high quality user interface is essential - for example, emergency services would use the display to quickly access the radio's functions and instantly view channel information during critical situations.

The TM8200 series is built on an extremely flexible platform, supporting a wide range of conventional and trunked signalling formats including:

  • CTCSS & DCS
  • Fully featured selective calling
  • DTMF
  • Single in-band tone
  • MAP27 data
  • Short data messages
  • ANI (Automatic Number Identification).

In addition, these radios can support up to 300 scanning or voting groups and as a result of the TM8200's exceptionally fast processing time, a large number of channels can be quickly scanned for signal strength.

 The TM8255 provides many MPT 1327 trunked features. Through the enhanced display and intuitive menu structure it is much easier to dial into system features such as:

  • PSTN calls
  • PABX calls
  • Call diversion
  • Group calls
  • Status calls
  • Priority calls.
